Meeting with the partners of the Comenius Project

From 26th till 29th April 2012 Socio-Therapy Center for Maladjusted Youths organised a meeting for 13 foreign partners who took part in the Comenius Project “European Green Club” which has been realized for 2 years.

Delegations were composed of teachers and students who arrived in Ostrowiec w. from the following schools: Scoala Cu Clasele I-VII Nr. 10 "Maria Rosetti" in Bucharest (Romania), Lycée et collège du Diois in Die in France, Direzione Didattica 3 Circolo in San Remo (Italy) and Bispham Drive Junior School in Nottingham (Great Britain).  Our guests were: Mihaela Stoenescu - teacher, Horotan Andrei Remus – grammar school student, Nicolescu Tudor – grammar school student (Romania); Thirery Villet – teacher, Geraldine Lieval -  teacher, Stephanie  Gourdol-Max – teacher, coordinator of the project at school and  Severine Gouy (France); Anna Maria Fogliarini – headmaster, Simonetta Adolfo – coordinator of the project, Rosangela Vivaldi – teacher (Italy); Ashley Crawshaw -  headmaster, Lynne Pearson – teacher, Clare Hollis – teacher (Great Britain). Programme of the visit was full of interesting meetings, trips and discussions.

On Friday morning guests participated in drama performance which was prepared within the framework of the grammar school project titled “Martians do not threat the Earth”. Later they were acquainted with social and educational system of our centre. They took part in lessons and extra classes in the centre and dormitory. They were in the gym, common rooms, computer classroom, library etc.

The next point of the programme was the multimedia presentation prepared and presented in English by our students. It was connected with the activities done during the project “European Green Club”. Headmaster of the centre – Zdzisaw Klusek – introduced polish educational system to our foreign guests. What is more, he characterised Socio-Therapy Centre for Maladjusted Youths. Antoni Maciejko who is a deputy of Head of an Educational Department in District County in Ostrowiec w. also participated in the meeting. Mr Maciejko answered guests’ questions which were connected with district education, the way of financing and managing it. He was engaged in planting firs in the lawn near the entrance of Socio-Therapy Center for Maladjusted Youths. The foreign delegations presented their achievements in Comenius Project. Then the participants assessed a degree and quality of the activities which were realised within the framework of the project “European Green Club”.

In the afternoon they also visited the Museum of Archeology and Natural Reserve Silica Krzemionki where they saw the striped flint mine from the Neolithic period and Nature Reserve. When they came back they went for a walk around Ostrowiec w. They visited Jesus Christ’s Church, Katy Monument, Jzef Pisudski and John Paul II Monuments, the market and Archangel Michael Church.

On 28th April (Saturday) the trip to witokrzyski National Park was organised. Our foreign guests were amazed by Nature Museum of witokrzyski National Park, Holy Cross, a stone run and breathtaking sights of the witokrzyskie Mountains. In the afternoon they were taken to Batw. They were wandering through the Jewish Ravine. They also visited Modrzewie Nature Reserve. The guests tasted regional cuisine and traditional polish meals in Czarcia Stpka restaurant. A four day visit in Socio-Therapy Center for Maladjusted Youths was finished with the official ceremony of giving certificates to the participants of the meeting by the headmaster Zdzisaw Klusek. It became the evidence of ending the next stage of the activities within the framework of Comenius Project “European Green Club”.
